RIJASOLO WINS THE CONTEMPORARY ART PRIZE PARITANA 2019

Rijasolo wins the 2019 PARITANA Prize for his series "Religious Fanaticism and Political Fanaticism in Madagascar". Each year the PARITANA prize is awarded to a Malagasy artist in the field of visual arts (drawing, painting, photography, video, etc.). The prize includes a creative grant, a 3-month artistic residency and an exhibition at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.

The PARTANA prize is supported by the Paritana association, the Fondation H, the Institut Français de Madagascar, La Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris) and Air France.

Rijasolo in creative residency in La Reunion Island

Rijasolo is currently in a photography residency at La Cité des Arts in Saint Denis, in La Reunion Island.

Along with other photographers (Morgan Fache & Nicolas Leblanc from the collective ITEM ), he documents the life of the neighbourhoods built around the "Grand Chemin", the historical trunk road of Saint Denis.

Riva Press joins the Zmâla adventure

Zmâla is a new independent magazine focusing on the production of photographers who work in collectives. The first edition covers 26 collectives from more than 15 countries. Rijasolo’s striking series on the mining town of Ilakaka in Madagascar has been chosen for this first issue. Publication is planned for the Visa pour l'Image Festival in Perpignan.
